On the island of Cyprus every Autumn the largest massacre of songbirds in Europe takes place. An estimate of 15000 songbirds are trapped and killed each night, to be illegally sold as an expensive delicacy across the country. This brutal business, in the hands of criminal gangs, fuels a €10 million business. Why are the police closing a blind eye on this?
